Meet the Amarillo Business Women Board for 2019-2020
The Amarillo Business Women board members serve on a voluntary three year maximum term. The board makes up a variety of different industries and talents that come together to lead a professional group of women in the workforce. They are also active members of our community and serve in many different leadership roles.
Caylar grew up in Vega, Texas where her passion for service and leadership started at a very early age. She interned with the Court Appointed Special Advocates of the South Plains while obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree at Texas Tech University majoring in Public Relations. After graduation, she moved to Amarillo, Texas to work as a Donor Engagement Manager for Cal Farley's. Caylar started her current position with St. Andrew's Episcopal School as the Director of Institutional Advancement in October 2017.
She is an active member of her community serving on the Executive Board for Junior League of Amarillo, Scholarship Committee for Los Barrios, and Education Community Impact Council for United Way. She is a member of the Texas Plains Association of Fundraising Professionals and is certified as an International Advancement Professional. Caylar is currently in the process of obtaining her Master's in Business Administration and pursuing certification as a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE). She has been a member of Amarillo Business Women since 2016 serving as Membership Chair and now President.
Sarah Morales was born and raised in Hereford, Texas. She has lived in Amarillo for 13 years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a major in Marketing from West Texas A&M University in 2007. She is currently an Account Executive with NewsChannel10 Media and has been with the company for 12 years.
Sarah has been a member of ABW since 2012 and has served as Co-Chair for Special Events 2013-2014. She was awarded Texas Business Woman to Watch in 2011 - only one in the state! Sarah has served on the Senior Ambassador’s Coalition Board and Alzheimer’s Association Board. She was a Loaned Executive for United Way of Amarillo & Canyon. She is very involved with community events on behalf of NewsChannel10 and loves to assist when possible.
She has been married to Michael for 13 years. They have two children, Melayna and Sebastian, and a 17 year old cat, L.S. She and her husband love traveling and spending time with family!
Lisa was born and raised in Amarillo, but has lived in Canyon, Texas for the last 22 years. She graduated with honors from Amarillo High School, and graduated Cum Laude from West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance. Lisa has worked in the banking industry for about 28 years performing various job duties throughout the bank from proof operator to bank manager. She is currently the Assistant Vice President of Amarillo National Bank and has worked as the Assistant Oil & Gas Manager for the last 12 years. Lisa volunteers with Junior Achievement, teaching students about financial planning, and has volunteered as a driver with Meals on Wheels of Amarillo for over 12 years. She is married to her husband, Jessie, and they will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary in 2018. They have one son, John. Lisa is a devout Christian and attends church at the First Baptist Church of Canyon. She loves crafts, reading, watching movies (Sci-fi and romantic comedies mostly), attending professional baseball games (Texas Rangers is her fave, but her goal is to visit all the baseball parks throughout the U.S & Canada) and playing at amusement parks (she has season passes to Six Flags & would have Disney passes too, if it were closer).
Vanessa is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in both New Mexico and Texas and holds the Accredited in Business Valuation credential by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Vanessa is also a board member for Panhandle Orphan Care Network, a charity dedicated to helping foster families. Other memberships include the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Round-Up Club, Panhandle Chapter of the Texas Society of CPA’s, New Mexico Society of CPA’s, and the Amarillo Area Estate Planning Council. She graduated from New Mexico State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Accountancy with Honors and a minor in Studio Art.
Sami Rabas earned two Associate Degrees from Black Hawk College in 2008. Shortly after, Sami earned her Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Media and Communication from West Texas A&M University in 2011. Currently, Sami is employed by NuStar Energy, L.P. as a Regional Human Resources Advisor where she provides human resource support to oil and gas operations throughout CO, NM, OK and TX.
Sami has been a member of ABW since 2015 and has previously served in membership and publicity. Sami, a Wisconsin native, considers the Texas Panhandle her home after 11 years of residence.
Brittny Lee is a 2014 graduate of West Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelor in Science majoring in Mass Communications and emphasizing in advertising and public relations. She currently serves as the Marketing Director for the WT Enterprise Center and is responsible for managing and overseeing the communication, marketing, public relations, programs and branding strategies.
Brittny is a member of InBIA where she earned her Business Incubation Management Certification. She also serves on the Executive Leadership Team for March of Dimes, is a graduate of Leadership Amarillo & Canyon, and was a recipient of Amarillo's Top 20 Under 40 in 2018.
Kathi is one of six sisters and grew up in Nebraska. She holds a Fashion Merchandising degree and a Sociology and Women’s Studies degree from the University of Nebraska. She has lived and worked in various cities including Lincoln, NE; Green Bay, WI; Tucson, AZ; and her favorite, New York City, where she worked as a buyer and merchandiser for some large department stores and received various awards. Kathi currently works in the non-profit world for the Girl Scouts and has been doing so for over 26 years. Her passions include the rural communities and their sustainability as well as the homeless population. She lives with her husband Keven on a small acreage outside the city limits and has 2 step children, Sequin and Ryan Brewer.
As a first-generation college student Ana Lozoya found her passion in helping entrepreneurs achieve the dream of business ownership. She is a 2014 WTAMU graduate with an M.B.A in Finance and B.B.A. in Management.
Ana is a current Business Consultant at the WTAMU Small Business Development Center. Her Hispanic background allows her to extend the free services of the SBDC to Spanish speaking clients. She was recently awarded the prestigious State Star award, given to one employee from each state/region for her strong commitment to small business. She also has been named one of eight recipients of the Texas Women of Distinction award given annually by the Texas Association of Mexican Chambers of Commerce. She is a volunteer and mentor in the community to organizations such as the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Business Council, Canyon Women in Business, Los Barrios de Amarillo, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hispanic Student Association and Association of Latino Professionals for America.
When she is not looking at business plans, she spends her time playing softball, traveling and enjoying her family.
Marissa is currently the College, Career & Military Readiness Facilitator at Caprock High School. She received her A.S in Mass Media from Amarillo College then went on West Texas A&M University to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Advertising and Public Relations. While in school she was heavily involved in many organizations and has continued to be just as involved in her professional life as well. She is grateful that she is back at her old high school getting students ready for life after high school.
She is the middle of 3 children and very close to her family. Marissa is Godmother to 2 beautiful little girls and hopes to have her own little ones running around someday in the far future. As for now, she enjoys her independent life and being able to always go with the flow. She is passionate about community and hopes to work in community relations for the Texas Rangers baseball team. As for now, we are more than happy to have her serve as scholarship co-chair for our organization.
